Dave, My apologies for not writing sooner. I have tried to find out more information but my mother doesn't know what my father was talking about when he passed the comment. She has no interest in genealogy, and said my father never really discussed his family. She knew his immediate family and didn't question beyond that. Too busy looking forward to look back! I've written to ask an older relative whether there is any truth to the comment with regard to our family, but haven't heard anything. Do you know the other names involved even if they aren't Bonesteel's? I'd really like to know. You can always email me off list. I'm not tracing this side of the family but have a list of family names "somewhere" in my "stuff". I'm not even sure Bonesteel is one of them, but can't say for sure. Where could I find information to read on these murders?? Would you direct me to wherever you came by this information, please? Perhaps newspaper articles, or maybe something you could email me, etc...I rather doubt my father was joking entirely. It may have been something he had heard as a child.
