I'm a new member of this list and am looking for information regarding the man who I believe (but have not proven) is my 4th great-grandfather. Charles Duane Hall was born in Westerly, Washington Co., Rhode Island on 09 Mar 1758. He served in the Rhode Island Militia during the Revolutionary War, and according to his pension application migrated to Rensselaer Co., NY about 1787. According to census entries, he lived in: 1790 - Stephentown 1800 & 1810 - Petersburgh 1820 & 1830 - Grafton 1840 - Brunswick He appears in Grafton in the Pensioner list of 1835 and still appears on the pensioner list in 1841, so he apparently died sometime between 1841 and 1850. Despite the fact that he was a Revolutionary veteran, I have been unable to locate his grave - I expect it was unmarked. I believe (but again, have not proven) that Charles Duane Hall is the father of Henry Merchant Hall (b. 1787 in Rhode Island and d. 1868 in Greenwich, Washington Co., NY).
