I am searching for Gardiner Waite and his wife Phoebe ?. On the NY 1855 census he is listed as being born in about 1789 in Rensselaer County, New York and is living with his son Russell in Albion, Oswego County, New York. Phoebe was born in 1792 in Albany, Albany County, New York. This is the only document I have found with Gardiner on it. I believe that Jeremiah Wait maybe be Russell's bother. In 1850 Phoebe and Russell are living with Jeremiah Wait in Williamstown, Oswego County. I found a posting once from an older Vanhoosen woman who thought Russell's mother-in-law Malinda VanHoosen was a Wait, and that Russell married his cousins. I believe this is true that Malinda is a Waite because she can be found living with her brother John Waite on the 1880 Census. But it appears to me that John's father is also John. So I would guess that possibly John Sr. and Gardiner are brothers. I am hoping someone else is working on this line.
