Have you any knowledge of Peter Goewey / Goewy in Putham,Putham County Vermont. Or Robert Crossman/ Crosman. The family says Soloman and nothing more than that on him and them jumps to Peter and on back threw Hawley family and Lookerman famlies. Which I think my cousins genealogy stinks. No proof or any information then jumps to a man to whom they do not even knows is related in aother state> I have my line traced to 1840 in Richford,Franklin , Vermont. I found oldest son in St Albans Wealthy Goewey King in same county. That gives John Christopher, George B. , my Harriet E. and Wealthy King. Whose decendents have a birth date on her and a wedding lis. saying she was born in Richford. So Jon Gowey fits the Vermont spelling of Goewey. I keep trying but no prise so far. One JHG was born in Putham in 1823 but he went to Ohio. I ran across the records of one woman in the LDS files on Goewey. First one I ever saw when I was a kid. I am back another 10 years in 1840 I found 1850 was Goie with all of the correct names from wife down to the youngest son. I am more prown to think Vermont rather in new York regardless what the others think. It was when I thru out the cousins phonie line and start doing my research that I found better results. He contacted me agian and I told him what I think. With the reasons. He was upset at first, but he started looking also. I told him I like him have no proof but when you have removed all of the other things it could be and then what is left is the truth ? I have four generations down from John Henry , John C. , Charles R. and John H. for JHG oldest son John C. Belive me I am doing my home work. Thank you so much Fred fm
