Bob: There is a birth record in the vital records of Petersburgh NY for Charles and Waitte Green: they had the following children: Charles `10/10/1779 Russel 1/20/1781 Caleb 9/17/1782 Paul 8/25/1784 Waitte 12/20/1786 Jared 8/28/1788 William 8/12/1790 Perhaps this William is the one you are looking for. There are also records for a Captain Charles Green in the Van Rensselaer Manor Papers as renting property in Little Hoosick (Petersburgh) in 1788. Possibly (probably) the father above. Also in the Van Rensselaer Manor Papers are several Staats families, but no Stutz. There is also a William Green received into the Seventh Day Baptist Church on 11/2/1811.
