I have some copies of family plot records from Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Unfortunately, most of the interments list only the Burial No., Grave No., Name and age at time of death. It would be nice to know the date of death. For many of the departed, I really would just like to know the year they were interred. Has anyone ever prepared a table of the sequential burial numbers and the year they were assigned. Better yet would be a table of the number range for each month by year but maybe that would not be worth the effort. Would the records copied by the LDS include all the burial numbers and what year they represent? I wonder if it would be worthwhile to go through the microfilms and try to set up an index table for the Rensselaer Website? For example, I have a cousin, Elizabeth MITER Reynolds for whom I do not have a birth date. I can't find her in the census records and am trying to at least establish a death date from an Oakwood plot layout. She is recorded as Burial #28432 Age 33. If I knew the year of the burial from the Burial #, I would then have an approximate birth and death year. There are a number of Miter family plots in Oakwood and I would find a table very useful. Of course, I can order the films in an get even more information and perhaps I'll do so this winter. The LDS films are: Index to interments, A-G - FHL US/CAN Film [ 1434121 ] Index to interments, G-Z Books of interments, v. 1-2 1835-1896 - FHL US/CAN Film [ 1434122 ] Books of interments, v. 3-4 1896-1938 (Volumes 3-4 contain a few dates for interments moved to Oakwood from elsewhere) Plot books, v. 1-2 1835-1985 - FHL US/CAN Film [ 1434123 ] Plot books, v. 2 (cont.) to v. 5 1835-1985 - FHL US/CAN Film [ 1434124 ] Plot books, v. 6-7 1835-1985 - FHL US/CAN Film [ 1434125 ] Brad Miter (rambling on on a snowy day in Ohio)
