I do not know if anyone has made records by burial # for Oakwood, but I contacted Oakwood Cemetery directly for my ancestors' records, and they sent me the complete records on my family for $10.00. This was 4 years ago. I would call the cemetery first. I spoke to a "Bernie" and he was very courteous and helpful. The records included a hand drawn map of my family's plot with each grave identified, and then a separate record of each interment, which included the interment #, name, place of birth, residence, age (years, month and days so you can figure out the date of birth), date & cause of death, date and place of internment (section & lot), funeral director, nearest relative or friend or parents' names. Not all fields were completed, but there was a lot of info provided. I don't know if you live locally, but the address of Oakwood is 50-101st St. Troy NY 12180, phone # 518-272-7520. Thanks for the information Donna. As I have about a half-dozen family plots in Oakwood, I think I'll try the films before getting records from the cemetery. I do have plot diagrams for all of them. I had thought, though, that the fee would be for each person buried in the plot, not for all the inhabitants for just $10. I can't remember if I told the list that this summer I found a William J. Wilner in the plot with my grgrandmother Julia Wilner GOULD. When I started doing research on him the census records (particularly the 1880 Census) showed he had been running a bawdy house for over 20 years. The 1870 and 1880 census showed 4 young ladies in the residence along with he and his wife. The wife was listed as a prostitute also along with the others in the 1880 one. Such are the hazards of genealogical mining! Brad -----Original Message----- From: Donna K.
