I hope this is the right place to ask. I need help locating the 1900 census records on George and Anna Lustig. I already have their census records for 1910 in Brooklyn, NY, and for 1920 in Oakland, California. He was supposedly born in 1873 in Vienna, and she was born in 1875 in Berlin. >From the information I have from the family and from the census records, I believe they were in Troy in 1900, since son Milton Lustig was born in Troy in 1899, and daughter Dorothy Lustig supposedly born in Troy in 1901. I know sometimes people misreport or do not know where people are actually born, so I am not positive about Troy. Their older son Leonard, according to the family, was born in Albany NY in 1898. Does anyone have access to city directories for 1900 for Troy? That might help a lot. There are other George Lustigs in various parts of the country in the 1900 census. He was a Tailor born in 1873, and I considered other Lustigs of close ages, but I doubt he is the 47 year old George who was a brewer in the 1900 records, nor the one who was named Gustave, whose other info doesn't match at all. My hunch is the surname was mistranscribed or misunderstood in the census. I have hunted both Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest. I want to find this as quite a few Lustigs married my Vishnicks, and I want to see how they all are related, if any other in-laws or cousins might have been in the 1900 household at the same time. http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thecohens/mvishnick.html Thanks for any help. tc
Check the Troy section of my website. We transcribed the Troy 1900 Federal census a few years ago and it is online there. >From the information I have from the family and from the census > records, I believe they were in Troy in 1900, -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
