Hello All, I have been trying to find the name of the first wife of Gideon G. Sanford. They were married in 1833 or in early 1834. Their first son, James Harvey Sanford, was born in Dec 1834 in Rensselaer County. Gideon is listed in the 1840 Census living in Pittstown. I do not know if his wife is living at that time. Gideon was born about Sep 1809 in Rensselaer County to Benjamin Sanford and Hulda Gifford. Richard

On ancestry.com, public member trees, there is a Gideon Gifford Sanford, son of Benjamin Sanford & Hulda Gifford, married to Julia Ann Van Slyke, born 19 February 1826, died 21 February 1912, daughter of Richard Van Slyke & Gertrude Snyder, but the son James Harvey is not listed. No sources are listed.
