I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jessie L. MACDONALD which was taken at the Shroder Studio in Troy, New York. The photograph is dated 14 Jun 1893 with Jessie appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to her name and the date it appears that Jessie also wrote "To Maude with love, from". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following census information for this family: 1880 census of Troy, NY: Mary MCDONALD, age 41, born NY, Keeping House, parents born Scotland/Ireland Margaret MCDONALD, sister, age 31, born NY, a Teacher, parents born Scotland/Ireland Thersa MCDONALD, sister, age 29, born NY, a Teacher, parents born Scotland/Ireland William J. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Hi, Shelley Just a reminder to you and to anyone else who has old photographs of people who resided in Rensselaer County NY - you are always welcome to submit them to the Rensselaer County NY GenWeb by emailing them to me at veeb.veeb@virgin.net. I can then give them a permanent online home so that the photo subjects' ancestors in future might find them. And thank YOU, Shelley, for rescuing this and other photographs and for letting people know of their existence on this list.
