    3. Is there any way to get out of all these "Reply All" emails? I have been inundated with emails that pertain to one person's interests. Please, when you get a response to your INITIAL inquiry, just respond to "Reply." Thank you, Tired of Deleting in Cincinnati. 1. [NYRENSSE] Reply or Reply All / was "Obit of Edward Waugh"

    3. Dorothy, What you requested can't be done. This is a public mailing list so messages go to everyone on the mailing list whether a person hits Reply or Reply All. What you are asking for works with private groups of people who, for example, may be sending humorous or inspirational messages to each other. In addition, this "Obit of Edward Waugh" conversation has actually been taking place on a message board. It has been arranged so that this mailing list also receives the message board messages (they are "gatewayed" to the mailing list). You usually cannot see the email address of the person sending the message to the message board, so you can't contact them without posting a message that everyone on the message board can see. An alternative would be to send your own email address in the body of a message and ask the person to contact you privately. The message board messages end up in an archive, however, so private conversations would not benefit people who are interested in the string of messages in the future. One difference between a mailing list and a message board is that on the message board you get to choose which message you receive. In a sense, you take it down off the board and read it. A mailing list is like a mail box. All messages go there, but then you can throw away what you think is junk mail without opening it. I am sending this message only to the mailing list. Problem. Two copies of Dorothy's message were received by me, so it would seem that everyone must have gotten two copies of it. Both had the same time stamp. They both listed Dorothy as the sender instead of "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com". Under certain circumstances of replying to this gateway system, a reply to a message will be sent twice to the mailing list (NYRENSSE-L@rootsweb.com and nyrensse@rootsweb.com) at the same time that it is sent to the message board. Perhaps this can be corrected, or perhaps it is unavoidable. Cliff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dorothy Keith wrote: >Is there any way to get out of all these "Reply All" emails?
