I have begun a website designed to aid the genealogical researcher who has interest in Albany, NY and the surrounding counties. It focuses on the following NY counties: Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Schoharie, Montgomery and Greene. At present, the major part of the site consists of links to vital records (birth, baptism, marriage, and death), plus some censuses, deeds, wills, military records, various other kinds of lists (tax, poor house, etc.), maps, online articles, etc. Also, my Guide to Albany Area Genealogical Resources, which some of you have already seen, has been moved to this NEW location. If you had it bookmarked, be aware that you will have to bookmark it again. Between other projects, I will try to transcribe some records and post them. I have some things begun, but they were put on hold while trying to get this site working. I would welcome any census, cemetery or church records for these counties if you would like to transcribe them and have your work posted. You would get full credit for the labor. There are other records or lists of people that would be appropriate as well. The site is far from finished, but I decided to open it for visitors while I continue working on it. Schoharie and Greene counties are poorly represented at this point. If you know of links that I have missed, I would welcome your suggestions.
