My list of names leads off with Leonard Lockwood 1795-1841 from Poestenkill/Sand Lake area, I have no parents for him. His wife was Rebecca Ainsworth, born about 1795, and was still alive for the 1855 census. Could the Ainsworths be Aylesworths, just a different spelling? I am interested in Joshua Lockwood who is in French's "Gazatteer of the State of New York" listed as having built the first grist mill in West Sand Lake in 1768 with William Carpenter. He might be an ancestor of Leonard. Manuel and Nicholas Young of Schaghticoke are ancestors of mine, too. Nicholas Young/Youngs was a doctor, married to Martha. His will was probated in Albany County showing that he wrote it in 1789 and proved in February 1791. Martha died between the writing of the will and the probate. The will mentions his 3 sons, Emanuel, Daniel and John. Emanuel inherited land in Halfmoon, Saratoga County, lived there for awhile and then moved on to Montgomery County, NY. In many cases he was called Manuel rather than Emanuel. I would love to hear from any persons having information on these people or their spouses and siblings. Gerry Oakley
