Hello All, I have been trying to find the parents of Gideon G. SANFORD for some time. He was born in Rensselaer County in about 1808. He was married there by 1835, but I do not have the name of his wife. He had a son George G. SANFORD who married a Maggie prior to the Civil War. George died as a result of wounds received during the war. Gideon moved to Fulton County where he married Julia VAN SLYCK in about 1848. There were a number of SANFORDS living in Rensselaer County.
