Hi listers, A small verification here. Probably Barb is right about Lower Canada and St. John becoming St. Jean, Quebec.....but being an East Coast Canadian, I would like to also let you know that there still exists St. John's, Newfoundland and also St. John, New Brunswick (without the 's on the end). Have fun figuring out which St. John's your John Simpson was born in. Sorry to stir the pot a little, but I'd hate to see someone spend tons of time researching only one area and not realizing that maybe they came from another. Might as well check them all out as you go.
