Lisa, I have some YAWGERs, would that be the same, but with a spelling variant? As follows: Philip YAWGER: Born Jun 22, 1753 in either Coblentz-on-the-Rhine in Germany, or on a large estate at Flemington, NJ Philip Yawger was youngest of five brothers; their names were John, Peter, William, Henry, Philip. Philip, founder of the New York branch of the Yawger family, came to America from Germany between the years 1750 and 1760 Philip emigrated from New Jersey to Owego, NY, and then on to Springport, NY. Settled on Lot #86 of the East Cayuga Reservation. Complete family records, contained in family bible printed in German, were brought from Coblentz, Germany -- brought to Cayuga Co. in 1801, by Philip Yawger, ... descended to his daughter, Ann Stout, who carried it to Berkshire, Tompkins Co.
