There are now 300 entries uploaded into the 1880 census on the Rensselaer GenExchange site. See if any of your ancestors are there. Thanks to Eve Grogan of this list who transcribed 100 of them. So far we have ten volunteers transcribing the 1870 and 1880 Troy census. Since I have both on cds if you want to volunteer let me know and I'll send you a page of the census in a jpg file format. If you have a graphics program you can open the file and print it out. It is the actual page of the census with the original handwriting. I will also send you a template to transcribe the information into (can be Excel, Works, Word, etc.) When you are done, you send it back to me, I send it to GenExchange and then it is on line for the whole world to see and hopefully find connections. If you find an ancestor at the site and would like a copy of the page, I'll make a deal with you. I'll send you the page if you will transcribe another page (40-50 entries).
