Sorry to hear about the records at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In 1998 I was lucky enough to spend a whole day there and copy baptism records for my four surnames that emigrated to Troy from Ireland (O'Connor, Flynn, Campbell, McEntee). Bernadette was extremely helpful. I sat at the dinning room table and was shown the filing cabinet where the books were held. Their records were in much better shape than those I found in the county court house (naturalizations). I didn't find any pages torn out or even frayed pages, so am surprised about their deteriorated condition two years later. At the time most records were in English but did find funerals in Latin.
