Hello, I realize Rensselaer Co was not formed till 1791 from Albany Co, however I have a record that has an ancestor born in Troy, NY in 1775. What township is Troy in? What census ward would Troy have been in in 1780 and 1790? I'm trying to find my ancestors in the 1780 and 1790 census but I'm not sure what part of Albany Co Troy was called? Any help appreciated?
