Well, they did it again! The following people have just finished transcribing the 2nd Ward. Bob McConihe, Betsy Robson, Mary Ann McConnell, Lynn Grice, Joan Firth Kaysen, Dorsey Clark and Carol Waldron. They come from all over this country. This was our biggest ward -- 4,882 people, 580 dwellings and 970 families. Plus, this was a very difficult ward to transcribe. The first 80 pages were very light and there are still many ?? in boxes because we could not read the microfilm. Also, when it got darker, the enumerator couldn't spell and used very fancy swirls in his handwriting which made is so hard to read the names. But, it will start going up on line tomorrow at the url below my name. Again, I warn you to look up all varieties of your surname and to check the microfilm for the original source document before putting the entries into your records. This project is to be used as in index only. So far we have finished six wards (the 1st ward is also almost complete). This totals 24,417 people, 2,506 dwellings and 4,725 families. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
