The model railroad club at RPI that Marie mentioned has a fantastic website with great pictures of their life-like models of Troy and other northeast cities where the railroads were a significant presence. Also some old photos of "actual" city streets and just alot of related information. On the bottom of the first page, I believe there's an email address for contacting them.
