John Butler is recorded as marrying a Jane McGrah (McGrath) d. 1862 of Hoosick in 1847. I also have him married to a Jane Gordon in Boone County, MO where John died in 1906. Jane Gordon died in 1882 in St. Charles Co, MO.These three names are candidates for his first wife of four. John came to NY with his father from Tipperary County Ireland about 1827. His father John built a hotel on the first rail line between Albany and Schenectady. John II went to California from 1852-1855. He returned to Mo and became very wealthy before he died.
