    3. Hi Everyone, I hope someone on this list can help. I recently got a copy of my grandfather's SSI aplication. He gave his employer as the WPA. Does anyone know if the government has records of the WPA and if they are available to the public? No on in the family ever mentioned this before and I would like to know what he did. TIA Arleen

    3. Arleen, I went to www.google.com, a search engine and entered WPA in the search window and received plenty of things to look at. The WPA (Works Progress Administration) was a 1930's "New Deal" program to put people to work. As Social Security started at about the same time, your grandfather was evidently one of the workers in the program. Some of the workers were artists, writers, etc. The following URL will take you to a copy of the WPA employee handbook. http://newdeal.feri.org/misc/faq/index.htm Let me know if you need any help getting to the information.
