    1. [Rensselaer] Need to Find Marriage Record...
    2. Jennifer Nordyke
    3. I hope someone can help me. I looked at the 1855 NY State Census for Nassau, Rensselaer County. I found my g-g-grandfather, James Nelson Spickerman, living at his uncle John G. Budd's residence. The other people living at that residence were John's wife Sarah, two servants by the names of Frederick Kirk and Susan Neper, and James' wife Jane. Who is Jane?! To my knowledge my g-g-grandfather moved to Illinois around 1859 and married my g-g-grandmother Julia Ann Whaples in 1860. There was never a mention of James being married before. I'm wondering what churches were in existence at the time between 1850 and 1855 since James was single in the 1850 NY Federal Census for Nassau, Rensselaer County. I realize that they might have not been married in the area, but I have nothing else to go on. And I'm assuming Jane must have died because divorce was not that popular back then. Jennifer
