Hi, The Troy Orphan Asylum has some surviving records. A place called Vanderhyden Hall (Boys Home) on Pauling Ave. in Troy has them. They are in 2 or 3 old filing cabinets, in alphabetical order. It may be worth a call or letter. I've gone there and seen them. Most are just index cards with names and dates, but some have photos and birth certificates attached, it's heartbreaking. Their business office phone number is (518) 283-3010 and the address there is 185 Main Ave., Wynantskill NY 12198 happy hunting, JO Nedschim@aol.com wrote: > hello list, and Jackie in particular, > > I was intrigued by your question about indenturing from the orphanage.
