am seeking evidence of my ancestor simon cuthbert an irish shoemaker from toronto who visited greenbush (now rennselear) in l866 with his wife sara allcock & baby girl perhaps just visiting relatives but it was during the time of the fenian raids on canada am wondering if being irish he might have temporarily left toronto to seek refuge in new york? was green bush an irish/fenian stronghold? any info would be helpful. thanks Karen Richardson Rock Lake, L'Amable, Ont.
