    3. Hello list(s), I apologize for the cross posting, but could use the help of interested individuals from either list. I am curious if anyone can help me out on some pre-1800 place names. I am researching my family who settled in the area of Albany County (and possibly current Rensselaer County) from 1760 - approximately 1780. I have located several documents that refer to places that they lived but most of these I can not find explicitly on any map or named in any book. Perhaps the places just faded away or as someone suggested to me may have just changed their name after the War of Independance. Any help would be appreciated. 1759 Kinderhook, Albany County 1765 Hoosick Path, Albany County (Is this near either Hoosick or Hoosick Falls?) 1786 "Henry Katzeback late of Files Town County of Albany, State of N, York, but now of Sorel, maketh Oath & saith that he was not in the Kingdom of Great Britain, or Ireland between 13th July 1783 and 23th March 1784. ..." -Loyalist Claim dated 1786. (Someone suggested to me this may be present day Troy, any truth to this?) Thanks!
