He married Mrs. Lydia Scofield of Albany 13 Apr 1828, and came to Lockport in 1822. I am looking for Ahira's parents and beyond. I've received incorrect information that he was the son of Abel White who was the son of Abner White, a Revolutionary War participant in several musters from Vermont, but my research shows there is no tie to this Abel and Abner, who are documented in DAR records. Brenda, I have no information on the names you listed but I am interested in your name, Hebert. There is Hebert, Manuel, and Hebert dit Manuel and Hebert dit Emmanuel in my French Canandian line. Hebert is an Acadian name and possibly French Hughenot. The name seems to have been shortened to Hebert by some and Manuel by others. Louise Manuel b. 1814 in Que. was my gr. gr. grandmother. She married Louis [Joseph] Menard b. 1814 presumably in Troy NY. His line was Menard dit Lafontaine. Maybe the Heberts fled from the British during the forced removal and went into Quebec. The Menards went back and forth over the border following work. The were ship carpenters and caulkers and possibly lumbermen. Deanna, If you go to this link for the Troy Irish Genealogy Society webpages and look under "Mc", you'll see a listing for the marriage of John McGough to Mary Guinan on 17 February 1908. The record is in Volume One of the Marriage Index; page 15, record # 71. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nytigs/MarriageIndexPaget.htm Toward the bottom of this page there is a link to print a form to request a copy from the Rensselaer County Clerk's Office. The cost is $5.

Snyder Dinehart ?-1871. They were married in 1806, and lived in Rensselaer County. Christopher disappears from all documentation in 1827 while Eveline continued to live in Brunswick until her death in 1871. They had 3 children: Maria ?-1886, Stephen and Barbara 1826-1890. There is a lot of information online stating that Christopher moves to the western part of NYS after the death of Eveline who dies in 1827, but that is obviously false. Hi! I'm new to the list, and was hoping someone might be able to help. (Sorry, I didn't mean to send this message before to the list with the wrong subject line.) My gr-gr-gr-grandparents passed through Troy between living in Quebec and living in Joliet, and two of their sons were born there. I know the family was Irish Catholic, so I didn't know if there might be baptismal records for the boys, or if the county might have kept birth records that early. The two births I'm hoping to find are: Andrew Wallace b. about 1845 James Wallace b. about 1846 Their parents were Thomas Wallace and Esther Hagerty. Thomas and Esther were originally Ireland (near Mullingar, if family lore holds true), but left either together or separately. Thomas' signature appears on a baptism and a marriage in Quebec in January, 1829, but their oldest son (Thomas, Jr.) was born in Ireland about 1829 (according to Census information). There were seven children born and baptized Catholic in Quebec, and I've been able to find their births (and one death) in the Drouin collection online. The last one born in Quebec was my gr-gr-grandfather, Peter Hagerty Wallace, he was baptized on 11 Aug 1843, and is listed in the Eastern Townships missionary register in the Drouin images on Ancestry. My understanding is that Andrew and James were born in Troy, NY, before the family moved on to Joliet, Illinois. The youngest two children were born in Joliet, and the family was listed in Joliet in the 1850 Census. According to the Census Elizabeth (or Lizzie) was born in Illinois about 1847.
