This site http://news.nnyln.net/ has articles from the Counties of Essex, Franklin, Clinton, St. Lawrence,Jefferson, Lewis, and Oswego. This site has newspaper articles from Oswego, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Auburn, Utica, Watertown, and a little of Albany plus some more. www.fultonhistory.com If you go on this site and search in quotes "Alex Waugh" there is a picture of him with Governor Roosevelt in Troy in 1930. I think it may be your uncle. It's the 1st hit. Kathy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. There is no record of any Keoughs in the St. Mary's Burial records published by ACGS. I am assuming that this is the book that is being consulted by the person who offered to do lookups. This is an incomplete record of individuals who were buried from St. Mary's Church (funeral Masses). It is not a record of all the burials in St. Mary's Cemetery. Those records are held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands NY and is part of the Albany Diocescan Cemetery Association. You could drop a line to them and they may be able to help you. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <NYRENSSE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 30, 2008 10:07 AM Subject: Re: [NYRENSSE] Have St. Mary's burial records, Troy NY > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: tbrdlve > Surnames: Keough > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.rensselaer/4611.11/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Would be interested in the following possibilities: > Martha (Cullen) Keough), died about Oct 1880; > John Keough, died about Dec 1898; > Mary Keough, died about Feb 1906, > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I just found this Historical Newspaper site about a month ago and am glad to try it out. The Troy papers seem to be from about 1940 through about 1975. This site has papers from all over the country. Do you have any relatives from Northern New York or across the middle part of New York State? If so, I know two good newspaper sites that are free for that area. Is your direct line through John, the son of Henry and Mary? I find Mary Waugh listed in the 1890 City of Troy directory as Widow of Henry living at 69 Washington St. If you want me to check anything else just post.
