    3. Re the message below from Cliff: Does this mean that if I have the birthdate of someone born in Troy in 1866 I can send for a certificate or do I have to have found it on an index first? I have his birthdate from his naturalisation application in Australia. Thanks for any information. Beryl O'Gorman Greensborough Victoria Australia What's your story? 3. Vital records don't exist for Troy before 1880 (unless they have some for approximately the 1846-1849 period). Sorry. But, to answer your question, if the date was something like 1890, you could use the form and send in the money. A reason for using an index (at the NYS Archives) is usually to locate the place of birth, marriage or death if you don't know it. That will allow you to find out which locality you should write to for the certificate. 1. [Rensselaer] George Gardner
    2. Del Pepke
    3. Greetings from Albuquerque--looking for information on GEORGE GARDNER and his wife CHRISTINA (Van) Rosenburg or (Van) Rosenburgh Gardner. I would guess his birth ca 1770-90, an infant son of his is buried in Old Mt. Ida (Old Troy Burial ground), with death date of Sept 4, 1817 at 20 days old. George had a son ASA GARDNER-my ggg grandfather-who married REBEKAH WILLARD BENTLEY. Also in the same cemetery at Troy were Asa Gardner 1770-1821, his wife Helen 1780-1841, and several of their children. Whether that Asa is a brother or father of George I don't know, also don't know how long George might have been in Rensselaer County or Albany County. Any help would be most appreciated!! Thanks! According to the Department of Health in March 2000 the turn-around for mail requests was 8 months. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lin" <veeb@getfreeinternet.co.uk> To: <NYRENSSE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2001 01:38 Subject: [Rensselaer] Waiting time for NY Dept Health records > On 14 Dec 2000, I sent away to the NY State Dept of Health for two Death > Certificates. 2. I sent my request for 3 certificates at about the same time, about a month ago, I received a check from the state in the amount of $12.00 referencing the Dept. of Health. Can think of no reason why I got the check or the amount of 12.00, with the exception that they were looking and couldn't find one? Doubt NYS is giving rewards for patience.... Linda

Someone (not sure who) from this Ainsworth family had founded Ainsworth, Brown Co Nebraska in the 19th century. 2. Michael Dellger
    3. Hello, Might any of you fine people have a connection with Patrick GALLAGHER and Ellen MCLAUGHLIN, who lived at Raheen Barr or in that area, Islandeady Parish, near Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland? Known children, Daniel, Martin, Patrick, Hugh, and John W. Gallagher, left for America in late 1840's. All to Hoosick Falls, New York, area. John W., wife Julia LABARRON, came earlier. If any of them would have traveled up the St. Lawrence, where might have been a likely place for them to debark? If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to talk further. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks. Michael Dellger
