On the NY 1855 census he is listed as being born in about 1789 in Rensselaer County, New York and is living with his son Russell in Albion, Oswego County, New York. Phoebe was born in 1792 in Albany, Albany County, New York. This is the only document I have found with Gardiner on it. I believe that Jeremiah Wait maybe be Russell's bother. In 1850 Phoebe and Russell are living with Jeremiah Wait in Williamstown, Oswego County. I found a posting once from an older Vanhoosen woman who thought Russell's mother-in-law Malinda VanHoosen was a Wait, and that Russell married his cousins. I believe this is true that Malinda is a Waite because she can be found living with her brother John Waite on the 1880 Census. But it appears to me that John's father is also John. So I would guess that possibly John Sr. and Gardiner are brothers. I am hoping someone else is working on this line.

    3. I am searching for the name and marriage information of the SPEANBURG(H) that Catherine LIVINGSTON married. He was her first husband. I am not sure if the marriage ended in his death or divorce. Most likely he was from the Valley Falls or Johnsonville area of Rensselaer County. Catherine was born December 12, 1910 in NY, died August 19, 2000 In Bennington, Bennington Co, VT. She married an unknown SPEANBURG first and had 2 children: Marie SPEANBURGH, born June 05, 1932, died October 19, 1933, and Anna Mae SPEANBURGH born March 01, 1934 in Johnsonville, Rensselaer Co, NY and died January 08, 2000 in Ft. Edward, Washington Co, NY. I can find a lot of Speanburgs in the censuses, but can't seem to connect her to any particular one. Catherine married second Carmen J. GRIECO in 1953 in Utica, NY. They had no children. Catherine was the daughter of George A. LIVINGSTON, unknown information and Sarah HILL born July 31, 1877 in Salem, Washington Co, NY died April 21, 1977 in Troy, Rensselaer Co, NY. Thanks for any information. Wendy

I found them initially in the 1900 Census, and followed the family through 1910, 1920 and 1930 with a few family sightings on SSDI, WWI & WW II records. 1. MOSELEY Family photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Frank E. MOSELEY which was taken at the Rabineau Studio in Albany, New York. The photograph is dated July 11, 1883 with Frank appearing to be in his 20's or 30's at the time. In addition to his name someone has glued a wedding announcement from the newspaper to the back of the photograph, it reads: MOSELEY - MACGREW - March 10th 1892 Frank E. MOSELEY of this city to Miss Annie MACGREW of Hartford, Conn Based on limited research, I believe this may be a photograph of Frank E. MOSELEY son of B. F. & Orellia MOSELEY who were living in Albany, NY during the 1880 census. Census records for the family are as follows: B. F. MOSELEY, age 68, born in MA, a Carpet Dealer, parents born in MA/NY Orellia MOSELEY, wife, age 68, born in MA, parents born in CT Charles E. MOSELEY, son, age 34, born in NY, a Carpet Dealer, parents born in MA (suggesting that Orellia is not Mother?) Frank E. MOSELEY, son, age 26, born in NY, a Carpet Dealer, parents born in MA Annie NUGENT, servant, age 27, born in Ireland N. H. DICKINSON, other, age 58, born in MA, parents born in MA In the 1900 census it appears that Frank E. MOSELEY is living in Troy, NY with his wife, records indicate the following: Frank MOSELEY, age 45, born Oct 1854, married 8 years, born NY, parents born in MA, Dry Goods Salesman Anna MOSELEY, age 39, born Oct 1869, married 8 years, no children, born in NY, parents born NY/England I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. Thanks for the information Donna. As I have about a half-dozen family plots in Oakwood, I think I'll try the films before getting records from the cemetery. I do have plot diagrams for all of them. I had thought, though, that the fee would be for each person buried in the plot, not for all the inhabitants for just $10. I can't remember if I told the list that this summer I found a William J. Wilner in the plot with my grgrandmother Julia Wilner GOULD. When I started doing research on him the census records (particularly the 1880 Census) showed he had been running a bawdy house for over 20 years. The 1870 and 1880 census showed 4 young ladies in the residence along with he and his wife. The wife was listed as a prostitute also along with the others in the 1880 one. Such are the hazards of genealogical mining! Brad -----Original Message----- From: Donna K. This was 4 years ago. I would call the cemetery first. I spoke to a "Bernie" and he was very courteous and helpful. The records included a hand drawn map of my family's plot with each grave identified, and then a separate record of each interment, which included the interment #, name, place of birth, residence, age (years, month and days so you can figure out the date of birth), date & cause of death, date and place of internment (section & lot), funeral director, nearest relative or friend or parents' names. Not all fields were completed, but there was a lot of info provided. I don't know if you live locally, but the address of Oakwood is 50-101st St. Troy NY 12180, phone # 518-272-7520. I have added links on both the Troy and the O'Connor/Connors sections of my website to a database of deaths found in the Troy directories and the New York State Vital Records (Albany State Library archives). They cover years 1876-1925. Please note, they don't cover every year in this span. For instance, the NYS Vital Records cover years 1885-1891 and 1920-1925. The directory work is spotty going years 1876-1910. They cover all the variants of the O'Connor surname. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com

    3. Chuck, The 1910 census of Nassau lists them as having been married 16 years which would make the year of marriage about 1893/4: All born in NY, all parents born in NY. VICKERY Willard M. Head 41 m1 16 Farmer, own farm Edith G. Wife 32 m1 16 4 children, 4 living Nettie G. Dau 15 Roy J. Son 12 Leon L. Son 5 Vera M. Dau 2 In 1920 they had moved to New Lebanon, Columbia County. Not much changed other than they all aged about 10 years and Nettie is gone (probably married) and they have an additional son, Homer, age 6. In 1930 they were back in Nassau and Willard was a "laborer, town highway." Only Leon remained at home, a "chauffeur, town highway." One other difference, the 1930 census lists Willard as having been born in Mass.??? Oops! Just found them in the 1900 census at Nassau. Looks like Nettie married at 16 and had her first child at 17 -- not unusual. All born in NY except Willard who was born in Mass.: Willard Head Jul 1867 32 m 6 Farmer Edith Wife Jan 1878 22 m 6 2 Children, 2 living Nettie Dau Sep 1884 5 Roy G. Son Sep 1897 2 John H.
