You are correct in that the 1930 census lists Joseph as proprietor, fruit market. He is living in rented quarters in Whitestone. One cannot determine from the census whether the market is the one you note on Astoria Blvd. In the 1940 census, however, Joseph is listed as living and owning a house at 7-21 152nd St. in Whitestone. His occupation is clerk, retail grocery. The Queens telephone directory for 1940 shows Joseph at that address along with an entry for Campo, J, grocer 14-23 150th St. Whitestone Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
