We went to St. John, New Brunswick this summer and by looking at a book of vital statistics from newspapers, were able to trace the family to Long Island because of an article about Thomas's death that appeared in a St. John newspaper. It stated that his family had lived previously in St. John but were at that time living in Long Island. The librarian did try to look up newspaper articles but I'm not sure of an actual obituary.
