It is a bit of a needle in a haystack, isn't it? Unfortunately, I don't know when William Maher died, and he may even have died in Ireland. He was gone by 1860, when his widow was listed in the federal census, living with a daughter in Jersey City. There doesn't seem to be a death certificate for her, and I'm still trying to trace her siblings. None appear in the Jamaica census records, and trying to determine whether a particular Maher found elsewhere was related is, as you can imagine, a challenge.
