Usually the certificates contain the name of the cemetery. Jamaica is much smaller then it was in 1868. Jamaica was both a Town and a Village before being incorporated into New York City in 1898. Also,much of the area that corresponded to the village or the town is still listed under the Jamaica post office and therefore mail may be addressed to Jamaica instead of let's say Richmond Hill.
