    3. Does anyone know if these are supposed to be complete? I haven't had much luck with them. I know my ancestors came to NY in the mid-1800's and would have come through Castle Garden. (All are too early for Ellis, unfortunately.) I have noticed that the 2 records I found that I think are matches are both horrendously transcribed. (I do volunteer transcription for FreeBMD so I do appreciate how hard it is but I also would never get away with such shoddy transcription.) For instance, "Mrs. M. Murray" is in the ancestry.com index as "Mick Murray". At least they had her sex down correctly as female. I think I've found my ancestor, "Mr. Robt. Waddell" but he is in the index as a female named "Mrs. R. D. Waddell". I'll grant them that the "ob" in Robert are almost invisible and could be mistaken as R.D. but he is clearly marked M for male and is travelling with his wife! One other question -- my WADDELLs were in Newark, NJ (late 1860's) before returning to Scotland and later returning to the US to settle in Maspeth (ca. 1900). Would they have come through Castle Garden or a port in NJ? Lisa - - - - researching WADDELL, LEBRIGHT, DAVIES and BLAUSTEN all in Maspeth
