I know the general area within Hempstead, but would like to now get more specific as to where my ancestor owned land. Do maps from this time period exsist that show land owners names on it?" First, not knowing if you are aware that on January 1, 1899, the eastern three-quarters of Queens County, the Towns of North Hempstead, Hempstead and Oyster Bay, seceded from Queens County and formed Nassau County.
