Hi: My first post to this list. I am searching for the parents of Peter Quinn, born Queens NY, Jul 1860. He married Emma (?) Quinn circa 1884 and they had two children, Mary Quinn (1885-?) and Charles F. Quinn (1887-1949). In the 1900 Census, Peter's mother Mary ( born Ireland 1842- aft. 1900) is living with them. Although the 1900 Census indicates that Peter's mother Mary, came to the US in 1859, can find no record of her in the 1880 Census. Visited the NYC Vital Records Web site and it appears that records for Queens during this timeframe are limited. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Brian
This is the closest I could find. I used 'familysearch.org' for Peter Quinn. Not alot in Queens. Brian I sent you a scan from Ancestry offlist. But when I doublechecked the dates, the son Peter is too young to be yours. Unless the census taker was wrong, which is always possible. I've looked through all the QUINNS in Queens but none seem to be the right match for yours. Also, have you considered looking in another borough? I know that Peter was born in Queens in 1860 and you find the family in Queens in 1900, but it is possible that they lived somewhere else as well. Good luck with your search! Lisa * * * *
