Can anyone tell me if the 1890 Census, which I understand survived for Queens, has a name index ? Vince
Vince The 1890 census for Queens did not survive. There is a 1892 census for Queens and also Brooklyn. There is an index for, I believe, Long Island City in Queens for the Census. There is a finding aid for the 1892 Census for Brooklyn written by Joseph M Silinonte. I f I recall correctly the 1890 census for Brooklhaven, Suffolk County, NY is the only that survived. Marilyn Thank you for responding. I was hoping to find my gparents in Long Island City in the 1890 Census. I had forgotten about the 1892 census entirely. Thank you.
