Seeking anyone with information on the JAYNES family of Long Island, New York. Mary Ann JAYNES was born May 13, 1831 in Canada. Mary married James FRASER who was born Feb. 20, 1835 in Canada. According to 1880 census, Mary Ann JAYNES father was born in Long Island, New York. Her father married a Canadian. James FRASER's father was born in either Maine or MASS; his mother was born in Nova Soctia. I suspect both the FRASER and JAYNES family perhaps were in Nova Scotia (? Pictou). James FRASER and Mary Ann JAYNES had their first 4 children in Canada, and their last 4 children in New York; by 1880 census James & Mary Ann FRASER were residing in Argentine, Genesee County, Michigan.
