I have just searched the 1870 Census and believe I have him living in Brooklyn Ward 14 - Williamsburg with his wife Margaret who is 28 years old and the following children: Richard (13 years); Samuel (12 years); Kate (11 years); Joseph (7 years); and (it looks like) Walter (2 years). Jeremiaha's occupation is listed as "engineer." I'll keep checking.
