Using www.findagrave.com the closest Woodlawn Cemetery I could find is indeed in the Bronx. Does the death cert just say Woodlawn and no town? You may want to check their listings. It is not unusual for people to be buried. Perhaps the family owned a plot there. Call or write to the cemetery ...they will not only verify his burial but tell you who else is buried there.
