Thank you to all who have sent me passenger records for Franziska and Clara Schmitt. I should have said there is no reason to believe either one came with anyone else. In fact, I am not sure the two women came together. There is little question that Franziska Schmitt's birth date was on or about 1858. I base that on her death certificate, census records and the birth certificates of her children. Clara Schmitt was born on or about 1855. This is also based on her death certificate and census records. Part of what I am trying to do is to prove these two women were sisters and not just coincidental neighbors as they lived next door to each other in Greenpoint and my grandmother the daughter of Franziska was born in the home of Clara Schmitt Stoll. With all the documentation I have nothing shows Franziska parents names and on Clara's death certificate it only gives her mothers first name. Yikes...this is one big brick wall. We have broken through other ones....and this is the last. If I can prove they were sisters then I will have ancestry back into the 1700's. Elizabeth V. Cardinal evc1369@comcast.net
