The German Genealogy Group will hold its next monthly meeting on Thursday, May 5th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Family History Center at 160 Washington Avenue, Plainview New York. The program will be "The Orphan Trains from 1854-1929 presented by Tom Reilly. An Orientation session for beginners and newcomers will be held at 7 PM and the regular meeting will start at 7:30. Among the many benefits of membership are a newsletter published ten times a year, a database of surnames, a translation service, a book and CD lending library, interesting guest speakers at the meetings, mentoring and a start-up kit of helpful information.
