Today, thanks to a wonderful friend, I finally have the death certificate for my great aunt Catherine Gallagher Mc Elroy who died in 1900. Place of death was Long Island City...118 Kent Street or Avenue. She was the widow of John Mc Elroy. Her death certificate reads that she was in the US for 10 years. I was so excited I forgot that Ellis Island did not open until 1892. My questions: 1. Is anyone searching this family? 2. Any suggestion as to how to find her passenger record? Thank You Elizabeth V.
