BYRON's office was at 345 Schermerhorn St. in Brooklyn, NY, according to the 1958 American Medical Directory, p. 973. He graduated in 1923 from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. The birthdate you have for him would be just after Queens county joined New York City, which I believe was Jan. 1, 1898. The doctor's birthdate may be printed in one of the annual birth indexes published in book form. One collection is at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue and West 42nd Street in Manhattan. Find the American History Division on the first floor. Request the birth index for New York City for five years---in case it was a delayed registration. It is cataloged as : New York (City). Health, Dept. of. Births Reported in [year], City of New York. At one time the library's class mark was 8-APRN (N.Y.C.) The Family History Library in Salt Lake City has it on microfilm and you could rent it at one of their branch libraries. The catalog entry is online at : http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlefilmnotes&columns=*%2C0%2C0&titleno=209636&disp=Births+reported+in+the+city+of+New+York++ Or you could skip the index and try to order the birth certificate directly.
