Pat, this may very well be your RHG in the 1866-67 Brooklyn Directory; it is the only GADD listing: Gadd Henry, shipmaster, h De Kalb av. n. Throop av. The listing says that his house (h) was on De Kalb avenue near (n) Throop avenue. I'll take a quick look at the NY Times, too, and will post again if I find anything. M
