Whether that is her maiden name or married name, I do not know. Apparently Samuel was the first immigrant arriving in Philadelphia in the 1890's where he engaged in business with his in-laws and established the 'beach head' for other relatives (apparently he sponsored his parent-in-laws). He went onto St. Louis. He had a brother, David, also in Philly whose family went onto Chicago. Most of the family ended up in the Los Angeles area. The only way I know of a possible BERKOWITZ/BERKOWICZ connections is through ship passengers listings when a couple of BERKOWITZs arrived in Philadelphia, naming Samuel as a "cousin". If she is related, hoping someone who might know of the relationship might be able to report. Could be she was not related at all. Thanks.
