She was born March 3, 1923 in Fellhammer, Germany, and was a daughter of the late Julius Huschka and Martha Nikke. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Price, and a brother, Heinz Huschka. During World War II, she met her husband while he was stationed there with the U.S. Army. They married and lived in Germany for a couple of years before moving to the United States. They resided on Long Island, N.Y., where she was a homemaker and lived in New York for over 30 years. They retired to Patrick Springs, where they lived for over 25 years. After her husband's death in 2004, she moved to Long Island and lived with her daughter Veronica and her family. Surviving are her children, Lita O'Connor of Bayport, N.Y., Joan Finck of Massepequa, N.Y., John Price of Merrick, N.Y., and Veronica Hammer of Setauket; one sister, Trudel of Ludwigsburgh, Germany; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A wake was held Saturday and Sunday at Moloney's Lake Funeral Home in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y. The funeral was held Monday at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Setauket. Burial was in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to any humanitarian organization of the donor's choice.
