If by yourself, I suggest working on a limited number of families at a time. When you're successful with one, scratch them off and add another. Also, the genealogy forum in the Find A Grave forums have a bunch of near geniuses who can find all kinds of obits & other info and they love a challenge! I'm sure they'd be willing to help you.
